Dave Taylor is a master of conversion and painting. Check out his blog, Dave Taylor Miniatures. His stuff is amazing and totally out of my league. I can paint decently. Dave paints amazingly. He can also sculpt greenstuff with the best of them. Something I have yet to get out of the kiddy pool with.
Well, awhile back, Taylor and some other well known painter/player/bloggers, did a project called the Storm Wardens project, named for a chapter from 40k roleplay. They painted up the army and sold tickets for a drawing to raise money for Doctors Without Borders. In the end, they raise around $10,000. Pretty impressive.
Taylor has gone a step further and brought the charity home by auctioning off one of his custom made armies to help aid some friends of his at home who have experience some tragedy.
