The Nipple Wing get first blood

I got in test game number two tonight with my Blood Angel Nipple Wing.  I got to play against a vanilla marine player playing Raven Guard with no Shrike.

Here is the Nipple Wing again:

Mephiston
Commander Dante

3x Sanguinary Priest- jumpacks, bolt pistol/ccw
5 Sanguinary Guard- 3x angelus bolter/glaive, 1x infernus pistol/glaive, 1x angelus bolter/powerfist

He brought:

5 Sternguard- 2x meltaguns, TL lascannon razorback
Ironclad dread
5 lightning claw terminators in a land raider with multi-melta

Tac Squad-melta,sarge with power weapon and meltabombs, rhino
Tac Squad-melta,sarge with power weapon and meltabombs, rhino
Tac Squad-melta,sarge with power weapon and meltabombs, rhino
Tac Squad-melta,sarge with power weapon and meltabombs, rhino

We played annhiliation with spearhead deployment.

Though my initial reserve rolls weren't great, I was able to get in both vanguard vets and a unit of sanguinary guard with priest on turn 2.  They started out by taking out two rhinos and and then went on to tie up their squads, one vet squad wiped out its opponents before being reduced to 1 model and having to run from terminators.

Dante and crew came on in turn 3 with another squad of sanguinary guard + priest. My final sanguinary guard+ priest mishapped and died.

He thought he could shoot up Mephiston with the sternguard, and lost them + the chappie for his trouble.  Mephiston went on to pop the ironclad and take out another tac squad.

His terminators were on their way to wiping out one of my last two sanguinary guard squads when my opponent ended the game.  We stopped in the middle of turn 5.

When it was over, I lost two sanguinary guard squads and one priest (no points for that).  He lost, 4 rhinos, 1 razorback, 1 ironclad, 3 tac squads, his sternguard, and a chaplain.

In the end, it came out in favor of the Sanguinary Guard 11kp to 4kp.

I am still learning how best to play this army.  It requires a lot of finesse and tons of luck to work out well.  In reality my perfect scenario requires space to land squads, then for both a unit of sanguinary guard and a vanguard vet squad to come in, land near enough to a transport to pop it with shooting and then heroically intervene into it.  So, you can see this army lacks a lot of solid tactical principles.  It isn't all that competitive, but it is fun to play.  When Mephiston is on, he rocks things.  He was earning 1-2 kp a turn starting in turn 3.  Dante helped some too.  His hit and run rule helps a ton, especially when he and crew get stuck in a bad combat situation, like a tac squad and ironclad.

Here are some pictures of the game. Unfortunately, I didn't start taking snapshots until the bottom of turn 2.  So what you see is starting there.

My opponent really did do a good job of trying to neutralize my units and I have to add, sargeants with power swords are super annoying to an army with next to no invul saves anywhere.  It was a good game and a fun win.
